What is the CIMA Professional Qualification?
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Professional Qualification (PQ) is now known as the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Professional Qualification (PQ). It is globally recognized as the most relevant finance qualification for a career in business, finance, management, or accounting. The CIMA Professional Qualification offers a unique blend of skills to help individuals and businesses succeed.

CGMA Professional Qualification Structure
The CIMA professional qualification consists of three levels, each culminating in a part qualification. These part qualifications, recognized by SAQA, are: Operational level (NQF 6); Management level (NQF 7); Strategic level (NQF 8).
Certificate level: BA1 Fundamentals of Business Economics; BA2 Fundamentals of Management Accounting; BA3 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting; BA4 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law. Award: CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (CIMA Cert BA).
Operational: E1 Managing Finance in a Digital World; P1 Management Accounting; F1 Financial Reporting; Operational Case Study. Award: CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA). NQF 6.
Management: E2 Managing Performance; P2 Advanced Management Accounting; F2 Advanced Financial Reporting; Management Case Study. Award: CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Adv Dip MA). NQF 7.
Strategic: E3 Strategic Management; P3 Risk Management; F3 Financial Strategy; Strategic Case Study. Then Assessment of Practical Experience Requirements (PER). Award: Membership of CIMA (ACMA/FCMA) and the CGMA designation. NQF 8.
